Marla Shelmadine, Director

Marla's passion in clumber spaniels began in 1988 when she acquired her first clumber spaniel from Betty L Young of Cypress Woods Clumber Spaniels. She bred her first clumber litter in 1997 along with importing clumbers from England and Sweden to help broaden the gene pool in the United States.

Over the years she has participated in conformation, obedience and hunting. She has been a member of the Clumber Spaniel Club of American since 1989. She is the current Archivist for the club and has served as past president and board member. She also served as past president and treasurer of the San Francisco Dog Training Club.

Health of the clumber spaniel has always been very important to Marla especially after losing one of her clumber spaniels at the age of 4½ to autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) back in 1996.

Marla's other passion besides clumber spaniels has always been the outdoors. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and traveling.
